Fundraising and Helpful Information

A message from the Ramsbotttom family:
As you may have heard, unfortunately I am out on an extended medical leave for the rest of this academic year.  I wanted to write to Lincoln families and friends to update you on our situation and express our enormous gratitude for the support Lancer friends and families have shown us.
In January, after presenting with some irregular symptoms, and undergoing a series of medical tests, my doctor  was quickly able to confirm that I have Acute Myeloid Leukemia – put simply, a type of cancer in the bone marrow that affects the cells which should develop into normal blood cells.
I have been under the amazing care of Loyola University Hospital, where I have now had two rounds of chemotherapy.  We are more than happy to share the news that I am currently in remission.
The next stage of treatment is one more round of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, followed by 100 days of living in isolation in a hotel room  - away from my wife, kids and the risk of exposure to any infection, while I develop an immune system – mine will be completely wiped out.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us in so many ways through well wishes, meals, messages, donations and offers of help. We have a tremendous support system and we feel so loved by you all. While we know we will never be able to repay everyone individually, we look forward to a time we can support you in a way you need or pay forward the kindness and generosity you have shown us.
Thank you.
Todd and Liz
